
To be considered for this bursary, students are required to submit a paper detailing a GIS project or application that they have worked on during their studies or a topic of interest from a GIS related course. Ths can be an individual or group project. The URISA-OC Board of Directors will review the submissions and publish the four best submissions in one of their quarterly newsletters.
In addition, the best-of-the-best submssions will be reviewed and a bursary will be awarded to the top submission at the 2010 Annual General Meeting planned for May 6, 2010 at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue in Vaughan, Ontario. URISA-OC wll also offer a complimentary one year student membership to each of the top 10 submissions.
This is a great opportunity for students to get name recognition and begin participating within the URISA-OC organization. URISA-OC offers solid networking opportunites for the post educational job search and many different levels of involvement as part of a diverse community of geospatial professionals.
Papers should be no longer than 1,000 words and include a description of the project, its purpose and the solution that it will provide.
