9:15am - City of Kitchener Emergency Operation Centre – Deputy Fire Chief Gary Mann
As part of the initiative of the Kitchener’s Emergency Operation Centre committee, which is chaired by Deputy Fire Chief Mann, the Committee has been working with the GIS group to determine what types of mapping products and tools must be available for deployment during an emergency situation. The presentation will review some of the new products so far compiled by the EOC team.
10:00am - County of Renfrew - Leslie Ann Wirth, Deputy Chief Paramedic Service
On August 2, 2006 an F2 Tornado surged through the community of Combermere in Madawaska Valley Twp. (pop 4400). The presentation documents the 27-day emergency and the municipality's unprecedented response and recovery efforts including the use of GEOSmart program and the valuable insights gained for better utilization in the future.

11:00am - City of Vaughan – Alison Munro, Project Manager, GIS
The City has recently installed and configured the ADASHI plume modeling software on laptops in the Emergency Command vehicle, HAZMAT response vehicle and the Emergency Planning Office, and all relevant staff members are now trained in its operation. The City will give a brief presentation on the implementation project, and then demonstrate the ADASHI package

Municipal Emergencies: What is the Role of the GeoSpatial Technologies? This presentation will provide an overview on how the geospatial technologies have been incorporated into the City’s Emergency Plan, Municipal Emergency Exercises, and the Emergency Operations Centre. Case studies (real and exercise scenarios) will be used to explore and demonstrate examples of how GIS has contributed (or could contribute) in emergency events such as chemical spills, train derailments, plane crashes, drinking water contamination, major fires, terrorist acts, a tornado, and a potential flu pandemic.

Crisis Command provides both tactical and strategic capabilities for first responders and emergency response officials. It includes functionality for incident reporting and notification, administration, critical asset tracking, work orders and time reports, landmark and resource information, fire attack pre-planning, fire flow bomb blast analysis, sniper/counter sniper capabilities, dynamic 3D visualization, and command and control. This presentation will show how software can manage and distribute information about a crisis to all team members, the press, or the general public.
2:15pm - Intergraph - Randall Cracknell, Senior Account Executive
Solutions for Emergency Operations Centres - Natural disasters, terrorism and the threat of a pandemic have elevated the importance of having the right procedures and tools to deal effectively with major incidents. This presentation will highlight Intergraph solutions which support the needs of an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) by providing incident, resource and consequence management capabilities.
