MISA Ontario 2011 Award Nominations:

Municipal Information Systems Association of Ontario is looking to recognize people and organizations for excellence in the use and delivery of technology. Every year, awards are presented at the MISA Ontario Annual Conference to individual information technology leaders, and to municipal and associate member organizations. A panel made up of representatives from various municipalities, selects award recipients from all the nominations received. To help nominees present the best possible case for selection, the awards panel will use a two-stage submission process like last year. Following the initial submission deadline of April 16, 2011, the panel will review all nomination forms and provide advice and feedback. Nominees can then make any desired revisions before meeting the final deadline of May 13, 2011. The format for nominations is designed to encourage follow-up nominations to Showcase Ontario and Government Technology Exhibition Conference (GTEC) award programs. The MISA awards will be presented on June 7th, 2011 at the Annual Conference

Today's Open Government   - Sold Out

- a New Approach to Public Service

April 14, 2011;
Governments have always been "open" - to a degree. The last two years have seen dramatic changes in the evolution of Open Government, Open Data, and Open Technologies. This workshop will provide a current stateassessment together with case studies in Open Data and Gov 2.0/Web 2.0 technologies and their roles in public service delivery. Attendees will also participate in roundtable discussions about the challenges and opportunities in moving local government towards today's "Open Government" model which is steadily gaining momentum both here and globally.  For more information:
