Emerging GPS / GNSS Technologies - Cansel

Keeping up to date on the new GPS / GNSS technology of today can be challenging at the best of times. Join us for a look at some of the emerging GPS / GNSS industry technologies that can help your organization collect, manage and analyse your information faster and easier, making you more productive, efficient and profitable.

Brock Kingston is a Sales Representative at Cansel, a company with a clear focus on helping organizations collect, measure, analyse, design and build a better Canada. Standing on the leading edge of Mapping and GIS/GPS Data Collection Technologies, Brock’s background and interests point directly to GIS, GPS and business process analysis.  His enthusiasm is very contagious and he’s always up for discussing ideas on how to improve business workflow processes around GPS field data collection.  For Brock, it’s all about helping organizations succeed from field to finish!

Cansel helps organizations measure, analyze, design and build a better Canada.   We are the only company of its kind, providing unique and tailored solutions for over 40 years.  Some of the markets we serve include Engineering, Surveying, Construction, Mining, Architecture, Utilities, Forestry, and Government. Partnering with the World’s leading technology manufacturers, (such as Canon, Trimble and Autodesk) Cansel’s national team of professionals combine software, hardware and services to improve your workflow: from field to finish.

Oblique Imagery in a Municipal GIS - First Base Solutions Inc.

First Base Solutions is Pictometry's exclusive partner for Canada. We will be providing an overview of the various products and services outlining some of the benefits and applications of Oblique Imagery in a Municipal GIS.

Easements - Teranet

One of the challenges many Municipalities and Utilities face is identifying the location and extent of the existing easements they hold.  An easement can be described as an interest in land owned by another that entitles its holder to a specific limited use.  For these organizations, the easements they hold provide access to critical infrastructure for inspection, maintenance and other related activities.

Through a partnership with the Regional Municipality of Peel, Teranet is undertaking a project to identify and map the location of easements held by, or in favour of the Regional Municipality.  During this presentation you will learn:

  • How data from both organizations has been extracted and combined in order to create an inventory of existing easements;
  • The process and data model for mapping the location and extent of each easement; and
  • The project deliverables and timelines.

Teranet, is a world leader in mapping and information systems, and is responsible for the on-going maintenance and management of POLARIS, the Province of Ontario Land Registration Information System. POLARIS is a comprehensive database containing all electronic land registration data relating to property interests in Ontario.

Richard Norris, Account Manager for the Government and Utility sectors at Teranet Inc., will lead a presentation on identifying registered easements and mapping their extents.

Managing your own Tracking Applications - ESRI Canada

With the latest releases, online data availability and pre-built templates, many organizations are interested in managing their own tracking applications. This presentation will focus on a winter operation example using Esri’s Tracking Server.  Based on recent RFP requirements, ESRI Canada has developed an easy to use application that leverages existing Esri technology to give the customer more control over their data.

Barry Kelly has over 25 years of experience in both the CAD and GIS disciplines. Barry is the Public Works Industry Manager for  ESRI Canada. Prior to joining ESRI Canada, Barry was an independent consultant to various private and public organizations. He also worked as an Account Manager and Applications Engineer with Autodesk Canada, taught GIS and CAD at Humber and Seneca Colleges.

Golf Carts Lined Up and Ready to Play

Scramble Format

Not a golfer? Not a problem! The format for playing is a scramble format. The best shot for each foursome will be used, and everyone moves their ball to the 'best spot' for the next shot. This is continued throughout the play. Note: Each team must use a minimum of 3 tee shots from each team member. The event is a great way to network and have lots of fun.
