In the Spring of 2001, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) began the rollout of Municipal Connect province-wide. This new web-based product is a significant enhancement to its predecessor, Project Connect, and is the first step toward enabling the electronic exchange of information between the municipalities and MPAC.Minicipal Connect provides real-time access to assessmnet information via the internet. The data provided includes: general property details, taxation details, owner/occupancy information, sales, soils, structure data and electronic images that enhance data integrity. There are various query options within the application to allow searches of property code, realty tax class (RTC), realty tax qualifer (RTQ), and newly created roll numbers. Municipalities can also generate a controls totals report that analyzes assessment growth by tax cass.
